It's a historic poster which made its comeback in the French elite this Sunday evening. Indeed, it was derby day for the 11th day of Ligue 1 with the clash between Olympique Lyonnais and AS Saint-Étienne. Corentin Tolisso and Jordan Veretout found themselves in midfield with Nemanja Matic a step further down. Rayan Cherki and Malick Fofana accompanied Alexandre Lacazette in attack. For their part, the Greens were organized in a 4-3-3 with Gautier Larsonneur in the cages behind Yvann Maçon, Dylan Batubinsika, Mickaël Nadé and Léo Pétrot. After three years without a derby at Groupama Stadium, the tone quickly rose. After only less than a minute of play, the match was interrupted due to a large cloud of smoke caused by smoke bombs from the stands. For more than 8 minutes, the match was stopped and was then able to resume with more visibility. As a reminder, Saint-Etienne supporters have been banned from traveling for this meeting classified as high risk.
