1-1: The last gasp costs two points | Real Valladolid CF

One last breath to destroy what had cost so much to achieve. That play, that last play, that cost two points and it has clouded a solid, serious, committed match by a Real Valladolid that faced a powerful and dominating Athletic Club, that equalized in clear scoring actions, that took the lead in the final stretch with a goal from Moro, and that ended to fit into that action that anticipated the end.

The duel against the Basque team, which arrived in sixth position, was from less to more for the pucelanos. The ball was red and white but the locals showed a lot of defensive solvency, good pressure work in their own half, well-coordinated lines, and forcefulness at the back. The visiting team was around the area but the first clear came for the Blanvioleta in a well-woven action that ended with a cross from Moro and a shot from Lucas Rosa at the far post, which forced a superb intervention from Agirrezabala. It was the 12th minute and the reply immediately came in a hand in hand by Nico Williams against which Hein saved well, forcing a shot outside the goal.

As the minutes passed, Real Valladolid found itself on the field. With more calmness with the ball he was able to find spaces to advance towards the rival field and, in the absence of clarity in either area, the most notable thing was a couple of actions in which the stands complained. First a possible transfer that the referee did not understand as such, in the 28th minute, and then, in the 39th minute, a Direct red to Prados that remained yellow after the VAR review. The first act ended with a masterful shot by Moro, from the front, looking for the opposing squad, and coming very close to scoring a goal.

From joy to rage in ten minutes
The second half was flatter, less artistic, very competitive. Both teams tried to create and advance but without enough ideas or strength enough to knock down the defenses. Time passed without any contestant generating real danger, forging that final stretch of so many conflicting emotions.

Guruzeta warned in the 75th minute with a shot in the area that was very close to being the first, and in the 79th minute the prize came, this time. A lateral center that Marcos André fought in the area had continuity in the boots of Iván Sánchez, who put it back to the heart where Raúl Moro, with his headcrossed to get Zorrilla to his feet.

In advantage, Athletic burned their ships to hug in those ten long minutes that remained in the game. Pucela, conscious, endured that arson, tried to be a fronton. Until that minute 93 When, from a central foul hanging in the area, the wall cracked, Guruzeta found the space and the tie put an end to a match that ended in the most bitter way.

After thirteen days of competition, the first third of LaLiga EA Sports completed, Real Valladolid adds nine points and is provisionally one below salvation, a context with which the national team break is reached next weekend.
