The match

Club has good memories of previous away fixtures against Beerschot, winning three and drawing once in the last four encounters. In the league Club only lost once in the previous nine matches against Beerschot (7W 1D). The last time Beerschot defeated Club was in 2020, just after their last promotion (0-1, Holzhauser), while Club dominated the last league encounters in 2021-22 with a maximum of six points (3-1 and 1-3).
Last year the two teams faced each other in the Croky Cup, where Club cruised past Beerschot 0-6. Andreas Skov Olsen was the man of the match with two goals and two assists. After his goal last week against Leuven, Skov Olsen is again Club’s top marksman with five goals.
The opponent
Beerschot returned to the Jupiler Pro League after having spent two years in second division. Since matchday 5 the team of coach Dirk Kuyt is bottom of the league with six points and already trailing by eight points. However, recently Kuyt led his team to a 2-1 stunt victory over Anderlecht and a 0-0 draw against Gent.
Last summer Beerschot signed a number of new players including Nick Shinton, who played for Club since 2016 and has now been between the sticks in Beerschot’s last six games. They also welcomed defenders Brian Plat, Loïc Mbe Soh and Colin Dagba. Thibaud Verlinden, son of Club Brugge legend Dany Verlinden, is the assist king with three key passes. Attackers Marwan Al-Sahafi and Simion Michez top Beerschot’s topscorer’s list with two goals each.
