Ligue 1 has experienced some ups and downs. This Saturday evening, as part of the eleventh day, the Lens-Nantes and Angers-PSG matches were briefly interrupted, after tennis balls were thrown onto the lawns of the Bollaert and Raymond-Kopa stadiums. Initially, it was in Lens that the supporters launched several dozen of these balls, from three stands, in the 11th minute of play, at the time of a restart from FC Nantes goalkeeper Alban Lafont. Referee Clément Turpin did not hesitate to stop this match for three to four minutes. Time to allow the players as well as the security agents to be able to clean the field. In the process, the match was quickly able to resume.
Angevin supporters supported by their Parisian counterparts
The announcer at this stadium then sent a message and indicated that the match would be definitively interrupted in the event of a new similar incident. Supporters also displayed banners and sang songs, to express in particular their hostility against the Professional Football League (LFP) and its president Vincent Labrune. All this in a complicated context, with the drop in TV rights or even the prices of subscriptions for DAZN which continue to cause controversy. These incidents were then repeated near Angers. This time, the Angevin ultras threw their many tennis balls just a few seconds after the start of the second half. At that moment, the Angevins were on the attack in the Parisian area. A banner was then also displayed, where it was written: “LFP, broadcasters, this is something to keep you busy for your next two-pronged ideas”. This action was supported by Parisian supporters who notably sang: “Freedom for the ultras”. The game then also resumed quickly.
