After more than five years of absence, the Toulouse marathon is making a comeback. More than 30,000 runners are expected to participate in the five events organized by the metropolis. Toulouse town hall warns that the event will lead to traffic and parking disruptions this Sunday in several areas of the city until around 4 p.m. Public transport will also be disrupted.
Many streets closed to traffic
Traffic will be prohibited to motor vehicles from midnight to 4 p.m. Sunday, in a large part of the city. Place du Capitole, for example, or Place Jeanne d'Arc will be closed to traffic. Only local residents, beneficiaries, emergency services, urgent deliveries (health, post, fresh produce) and taxis will be able to access it. Same thing for parking, prohibited from midnight to 4 p.m. this Sunday in a large part of the city. View the full list of roads where parking will be impossible.
Consequently, Toulouse town hall advises local residents and visitors to park in relay car parks and to come to the city center by public transport, by bike or on foot this Sunday. Note that public transport will also be disrupted including bus line diversions; the temporary closure of the Capitole and Jean Jaurès metro stations; the interruption of the tramway between Palais de Justice and the Arena. To find information in real time, the town hall recommends consulting the Tisséo site.
