This time the situation is serious for the GF38. Although he can rail against the refereeing that is not always consistent, he has not put the right ingredients in place to avoid another defeat, the first this season on his lawn. Dominated by Dunkirk this Friday evening, it only took one point out of twelve possible and is slowly but surely slipping in the rankings.
Once again we had to wait several minutes to see the GF38 really get into its game. It's as if the Grenoblois had lost the list of good things that they were capable of putting into a match to win during their outings at the Stade des Alpes.
Their current bad series seems to weigh heavily on people's minds and risk-taking has remained minimal. The absences of two senior players, in this case Gaëtan Paquiez and Pape Meïsa Ba, did not really help matters.
In the doldrums of a first act without thrill, we had to wait until the 35e minute to finally see a collective movement worthy of the name on the Grenoble side. However, it was concluded by a half-hearted strike from Mbemba. Like a big clash between Jabbari and Mbemba or a disagreement between Diarra and Tchaptchet which could have been costly, the GF was out of his depth.
The Northerners had a few opportunities on their side, notably on a big strike from Tejan which forced Diop to intervene with authority (24e). All this was very thin and it was under the whistles that the two teams returned to the locker room.
An arbitration that is debated
Grenoble had to do more, had to do better. But it was definitely difficult for him to set up his offensive game. He had the ball at his feet more than in the first half but he couldn't find the right path once he reached the last thirty meters where all the actions are more complicated.
And several facts of the game turned the match on its head. At the end of a confused action and while the Grenoblois called for a foul on Diop who remained on the ground, Bardeli shot at goal towards the cages relieved of goalkeepers to open the score (0-1, 67e). A little later, Joseph fell in the area and the referee decided not to flinch (70e).
Just as he remained unmoved while this same Joseph was cut in two, still in the surface, by Sasso (74e). This time, however, the penalty was clear. The Isérois tried everything to come back but they ultimately had to give in. With a feeling of injustice.
