To attend Donald Trump's victory speech, the daughter of the next president of the United States surprised by wearing a suit in the color of the Democratic Party.
It’s a historic comeback. After multiple trials, court convictions and two assassination attempts, Donald Trump was elected president of the United States on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday. To announce his victory against his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris, he spoke in his headquarters in West Palm Beach, surrounded by his future vice-president JD Vance and his relatives. The presence of his daughter Ivanka Trump was surprising as she was conspicuous by her absence during the campaign, unlike those of 2016 and 2020. Even more surprising, her stylistic choice did not fail to provoke a reaction.

The tailor of discord
Royal blue velvet suit, matching silk shirt, diamond earrings and red lipstick… the look of Donald Trump's “favorite daughter” is as impeccable as it is surprising. In a country where blue and red are particularly associated with the Democratic and Republican camps respectively, his choice of outfit does not please everyone. Would she have wanted to send a message to the Americans? Doesn't she share her father's positions on abortion and women's rights in general? Has the threshold of tolerance of someone who has long presented herself as a feminist been reached? If speculation is rife in the American press and on social networks, the main person concerned has not spoken out on the question.
After the defeat of Donald Trump in 2020 and the assault on the Capitol by his supporters on January 6, 2021, she gradually distanced herself from her father, keeping herself from any appearance at his side. When announcing her candidacy for the 2024 US election, she made it known on Instagram that she would not actively participate in his campaign, preferring to focus on her family life in Florida, where she moved after her years in Washington. The former White House advisor has only made one appearance in recent months, at the Republican Convention in July, five days after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Remaining very discreet, she wore a white skirt suit for the occasion, while her mother-in-law and a large proportion of Trumpists came to support their candidate in a total red look. This was particularly the case for Melania Trump.
