Throughout the city, work on metro line C is progressing, with the arrival of tunnel boring machines. By the end of 2028, at the earliest, this 27-kilometer line will connect Colomiers to Labège.
In the Sept-Deniers district, a new site will be strategic for the future line.

For now, only earthworks and decontamination of the site have been carried out. But this Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Tisséo laid the first stone of a building which will have a major importance in the proper functioning of the future line.
This building is the one that will house the future workshop garage of line C.
This site will store up to 34 metro trains
“This site will store and carry out maintenance on more than 34 metro trains to accommodate the estimated 200,000 passengers/day when they come into service in 2028,” begins Tisséo before detailing:
“The site will also be a maneuvering zone in which the metro trains will be directed to their destination (storage, maintenance) with more than 35km of railway track and 34 track devices on the site. The workshop garage will ensure the maintenance of all the infrastructure and equipment that will be installed throughout the line. Among the equipment (systems) installed “on-line”, there is the railway track on which the metro trains will run, the electrical power equipment (3rd rail, under electrical power station), the safety equipment (lighting , landing doors, video surveillance), operating equipment (railway signaling). A centralized control station (PCC) will be set up for the operation of the line, the safety of equipment and passengers and to facilitate the movement of the latter.
A site of 12 hectares
In total, nearly 20,000 m² of buildings will be built in Daturas on a 12-hectare site.
Since July 2024, civil engineering work has been underway. The foundations of the storage and maintenance buildings for infrastructure and fixed equipment have been completed and construction of the walls has started. The foundations of the metro train maintenance and operations building are getting underway.
At the end of this work, the installation of equipment linked to the transport system can begin with the installation of the railway tracks, the power supply for the metro trains, the railway signaling but also all the necessary industrial equipment. for the maintenance of metros: a metro washing machine for regular exterior cleaning of metros, a pit tower for machining the wheels of metro trains guaranteeing the safety of the transport system and its comfort, overhead cranes for the logistics of heavy equipment present in trains, etc.
Laying of the first rails at the end of 2025
“The installation of the first equipment will begin in 2025, including the installation of the first rails for the workshop garage at the end of 2025,” adds Tisséo.
The access ramp between Line C and the workshop garage is built. The 470m tunnel which will allow metro trains to cross the A621 and reach the Sept-Deniers site is currently being built. In 2025, the part of the tunnel located under the A621 will be built.
“The first train will arrive in 2027. The first tests with the metro trains will take place in 2028,” concludes Tisséo.
