06/11/24 – 23:06 – The summary

We couldn’t have dreamed of a better debut for Brest in the most prestigious of the European Cups. Beyond a breathtaking balance sheet (10 points) which almost certainly propels them to the next round, Eric Roy’s men showed this evening against Sparta Prague mastery, confidence and quality of play incredible that can make any French football fan fall in love. These Bretons continue to seduce us on the European scene, it would even be inappropriate to speak of a miracle, as the victories acquired one after the other are of absolute logic.

In Prague, the Bretons never suffered against the Czech hosts who were dominated in all areas of the game. Led by a generous, masterful Ludovic Ajorque, brilliant in deviations, and always fair in the choices, Brest played its part without incident . Edmilson Fernandes opened the scoring with a nice recovery (35th) in the area a few minutes before the break. With a one-goal lead, it was almost ill-paid for the Pirates at halftime. Ajorque (26th) and Doumbia (37th) could have scored well before, while Lees-Melou came close to the break just after half-time (47th). Camara (66th) lacked lucidity to give his team a second advantage, but Brest ended up putting the Czechs under water with an own goal from Kairinen (80th) following a great inspiration from Ajorque.

Despite a small scare in added time and a reduction in Olatunji’s score (1-2), Brest was able to maintain its advantage to validate a precious victory which keeps the French club in 4th place in the ranking. If PSG continues to be disappointed, Brest continues to amaze us day after day, and something tells us that this European epic is only just beginning. The merit goes to the will of a group instilled by a coach who knew how to bring out the best in his team.

06/11/24 – 22:55 – Ajorque is having fun

Man of the match Ludovic Ajorque hopes to continue dreaming in this competition “It’s true that we’re having a lot of fun playing this competition. We’re trying to show that we know how to play football. Frankly, it’s just a joy. We’re going to have fun”

06/11/24 – 22:51 – Brest victory

Brest won against Sparta (2-1) and wrote a very beautiful page in the club’s history with this certainty of qualification for the next round of the Champions League. An authoritarian, brilliant match which appealed even more to the Bretons but also to all of .

06/11/24 – 22:48 – 91′ – Olatunji reduces the score

Olatunji manages to reduce the score following a confusion in the Brest area. 1-2, it’s not over.

06/11/24 – 22:47 – 3 minutes of added time

The Ukrainian referee adds three minutes of added time for this second half.

06/11/24 – 22:43 – 87′ – Chardonnet takes over Olatunji

Another great intervention from Chardonnet against Olatunji. Captain Brestois is impeccable this evening in his defensive tasks

06/11/24 – 22:40 – 83′ – Triple change for the Bretons

Eric Roy takes advantage of this second goal to bring out Fernandes, Camara and Doumbia and replace them with Magnetti, Martin and Salah

06/11/24 – 22:35 – 79′ – Brest makes the break

Following perfect pressing from Brest, and a pass in the axis from Ajorque for Doumbia, Kairinen deceives his own goalkeeper with an own goal. 2-0 for Brest

06/11/24 – 22:33 – 77′ – Ajorque tente sa chance

Ajorque tries a shot from outside the area, it’s on target but it lacks power. Vindahl is on the trajectory.

06/11/24 – 22:32 – 75′ – Ajorque too altruistic

While he seemed in an ideal position for the shot, Ajorque passed back for Camara. The former Stéphanois slips before striking. The ball is deflected for a corner by the opposing defense

06/11/24 – 22:30 – 74′ – Baldé replaces

Buissau-Guinean Mama Baldé is replaced by Matthias Pereira Lage. This is Eric Roy’s first change in this meeting;

06/11/24 – 22:26 – 69′ – Rynes author of a nasty tackle

With both feet off the ground facing Lees-Melou, Rynes was unable to control his movement. Yellow card for the Sparta player.

06/11/24 – 22:23 – 66′ – Big miss from Camara

While he did the hardest part by dribbling his opponent in the area, Mehdi Camara rushed at the moment of the shot. He screws up his attempt a little too much. The ball goes just wide of the frame.
