Last September, Iris Mittenaere filed a complaint against her ex-companion Bruno Pelat for acts of physical and psychological violence. This Wednesday, November 6, at the Paris criminal court, the latter was to appear in the presence of the former Miss France and Miss Universe. But, in a twist of events, the young woman finally got the hearing to take place behind closed doors.
Since September 25, Iris Mittenaere has been at her worst. While she thought she had found love again in the arms of Bruno Pelat, their story turned into a nightmare. The former Miss France and Miss Universe filed a complaint against the young man for domestic violence. A 22-year-old wealthy heir and son of a real estate tycoon, Bruno Pelat started a relationship with the ex-beauty queen during the summer of 2024, after her separation from Diego El Glaoui.
However, their romance darkened on the night of Monday September 23 to Tuesday September 24 when the 31-year-old young woman claims to have been hit and threatened. In his complaint, and according to information from Parisian, she thus revealed that he notably hit her head against a wall, threatened to “make him lose“its contracts and”turn“his father. Facts that she had already reported on a victim support platform, before having the courage to push open the door of a police station. On the evening of September 24, Iris Mittenaere also made an appearance at the Etam Live Show parade with a hand splint.
After 48 hours in police custody, on September 27, Bruno Pelat was to be tried in immediate appearance, but the hearing was finally postponed at the request of Iris Mittenaere's lawyer. As she revealed to AFP, the young woman “felt he could not have told everything at the police station“and not to be”in psychological capacity” to appear at the hearing. Absolutely wishing to express themselves and tell the factsthe immediate appearance of Bruno Pelat was then postponed to November 6. While awaiting his trial, the 22-year-old young man was placed under judicial supervision, with the ban “to contact the victim in any way, including via social media.
Iris Mittenaere obtains that the trial of Bruno Pelat takes place behind closed doors
This Wednesday, November 6, everything went as planned… at the beginning. Iris Mittenaere was present at the Paris Criminal Court. Accompanied by her mother, Laurent Druart, her stepfather and her sister, Manon Mittenaere, the ex-beauty queen seemed feverish and very stressed but determined to testify at the bar. During the hearing, the president thus summarized the facts alleged against Bruno Pelat. We notably learned that the young woman was the victim of violence between June 12 and September 24. It was notably revealed that Bruno Pelat had worn “blows“, “pulled the arm” to prevent him from leaving the premises and that's without counting the numerous insults. “Asshole, you big shit, you're an imbecile, you're crazy” are so many words which struck Iris Mittenaere right in the heart from her ex-companion.
After a summary of the facts, Iris Mittenaere's lawyer finally took the floor to request that the hearing take place behind closed doors due to the media coverage of the case and very personal facts that she will reveal at the bar, but also to maintain links with people cited in the procedure such as the ex-companion of Miss France with whom she is associated for a brand. A request to which the prosecutor opposed, as did Bruno Pelat's lawyer. The latter wanted the affair to remain public with a truth of the debates while he was “unjustly accused“. “Whether we are Miss Universe or Madame Duchemin, that does not justify everyone leaving this room“, he launched. The request for a closed session was finally accepted by the president for whom “notoriety can hinder speech“while she wishes for one”free speech possible“. News that made Iris Mittenaere burst into tears in her mother's arms.
Videos and audios from Bruno Pelat… and Diego El Glaoui
Before the hearing was closed, Iris Mittenaere's lawyer claimed to have two videos, one of seven seconds and another of three minutes, to see in particular the tone adopted by Bruno Pelat. For his part, the latter's lawyer revealed that he had in his possession an audio document by Diego El Glaoui in which he criticizes Iris Mittenaere to wrongly accuse him of domestic violence. So many documents which were the subject of a request to be added to the file. Documents which could, if they are ultimately produced during the hearing, redistribute the cards.
