Brigitte Macron approached students like no other to talk about school bullying. The wife of the President of the Republic went on Wednesday to the castle of Dammarie-lès-Lys, where the candidates of the Star Academyto “exchange with students on the subject of school bullying”, according to a TF1 press release.
Emmanuel Macron's wife was accompanied for this visit by Julia Atlan, director of 3018, a number available to young victims of online harassment and violence. Upon their arrival, the two women were introduced by the director of the castle, Michael Goldman.
“Friends, I have the pleasure of introducing Brigitte Macron and Justine Atlan who are here as part of the national week against bullying at school,” he declared.
A call for awareness
Dressed in black with a leather jacket, Brigitte Macron first returned to this commitment that she has been pursuing since 2017, as shown in an extract from her visit shared on X/Twitter.
“It was the first subject that arrived on my desk when Emmanuel became president,” the former teacher confided to the telecrochet students. “Perhaps because I am a teacher, I have received a lot of letters from students saying: “Go on this subject, talk about it, etc.” That’s how it all started.”
The first lady added that she was also interested in the “mental health of children and adolescents”, often “destabilized” by school bullying, after “taking over the presidency of the Hospital Foundation” following “Madame Chirac”. This visit was immortalized by a photo with the students and Michael Goldman in front of the castle.
The press release from the first channel, which should broadcast the sequence today during the daily program, also highlighted the importance of this fight. “Each year, the national day against bullying at school serves as a reminder of how fundamental the prevention and fight against bullying are,” it was stated.
