Imane Khelif, the Paris Olympics boxing gold medallist who faced controversy over her gender eligibility, has been identified as a man in a leaked medical report. Obtained by French journalist Djaffar Ait Aoudia, the report stated that Khelif was impacted by 5-alpha reductase deficiency, a sexual disorder development found in genetic males.
Reacting to the news, cricketer Harbhajan Singh shared a post stating that this is not fair and asking the Olympics to take back the gold medal. He also tagged the Olympics in the post that read “Take the Gold back @Olympics This isn’t fair”.

What was the Olympics controversy
A debate sparked on social media when Italian boxer Angela Carini abruptly withdrew from her bout against Khelif during a women’s boxing match at Paris Olympics 2024. Carini’s decision came after enduring a flurry of punches.
Harry Potter author JK Rowling also shared an image from the match. In an X post she wrote “Could any picture sum up our new men’s rights movement better? The smirk of a male who’s knows he’s protected by a misogynist sporting establishment enjoying the distress of a woman he’s just punched in the head, and whose life’s ambition he’s just shattered. #Paris2024”.
What the leaked medical report state
As per a Redux report, the leaked medical report has been drafted by experts from the Kremlin-Bicetre Hospital in Paris and the Mohamed Lamine Debaghine Hospital in Algiers in June 2023. It describes Khelif’s biological traits, such as the existence of internal testicles and the lack of a uterus. The MRI report suggested the presence of a micropenis, resembling an enlarged clitoris, as per the report.
Imane Khelif files lawsuit against Elon Musk and others
The Algerian athlete filed the lawsuit in Paris against what she describes as “aggravated cyber harassment” after controversy on her gender eligibility. Tesla CEO Elon Musk was named in the lawsuit.
