Died on August 18, Alain Delon was buried in a private chapel in Douchy, according to his wishes during a private ceremony. The actor should have celebrated his 89th birthday this Friday, November 8. Before his birthday, and a few days after All Saints' Day, his daughter Anouchka Delon revealed the letter she had written to him for his funeral.

“I have loved you for a long time, I will never forget you”

In a post on Instagram, Anouchka Delon explains: “I'm not going to be able to give you a gift. In that case I'll give one to your audience. You would have wanted it.” This gift is the text of four handwritten pages that she was able to write and read during the ceremony on August 24.

“We told lots of stories, about the young wolf and the cheetah. Those of Delon, of Alain, but today dad, it’s yours that I’m going to talk about” begins Anouchka Delon’s letter. “You are a man of few words, and here it is I who struggle to find mine.”

She then speaks of a “unsatisfied feared but tender-hearted proven.” “You often say that you owe everything to your audience, that it is they who made you. As you loved them, as they still love you” continues Anouchka. “Eternal rebel, you always did what you wanted, always liked to prove to all these idiots that they were wrong”.

Finally, she concludes with the words of the nursery rhyme At the clear fountain : “Dad, I have loved you for a long time. I will never, never forget you…”.
