Florin Tănase stormed after Craiova University

In the 62nd minute, center Florin Andrei awarded a penalty in favor of the hosts, after watching the duel between Baba Alhassan and Ștefan Baiaram on the VAR monitor. Alexandru Cicâldău converted the penalty kick and closed the scoreboard. At the end of regular time, Alexandru Pantea, introduced at half-time, claimed an injury and, as FCSB had made all the changes, the champion remained in turn with 10 men.

The ending was dramatic. In the 90th+3rd minute, the referee indicated the penalty spot again, this time for FCSB. After a few minutes of checks in the VAR room, Florin Andrei was informed that, before the foul committed by Maldonado, Luis Phelipe was offside.

Thus, Florin Andrei changed his initial decision, and the game resumed with an indirect free kick for Olteni. Baba Alhassan and Joyskim Dawa were later sent off in turn and FCSB finished the match down to 7 men.

At the flash-interview, Florin Tănase was extremely disappointed with the result, considering the way the game was played.

”An intense match, unfortunately we didn’t do what we needed to keep the result. We had to play differently in the second half, to score more. You can’t not win a game when you have an extra man in the first half. The important thing was that we had 1-0, with an extra man and we didn’t win.

I thought it would be much easier and it wasn’t. I hope it will be a lesson to us and in the future we will not treat it like this. I was waiting for him to decide if it was a penalty or not (no- in overtime). It was offside or not, it was the right line, crooked, it doesn’t matter anymore. It ended 1-1, we lost two big points here.

I didn’t see very well, they (no- Alhassan and Dawa) know better if they were or not (no- correct red cards). It doesn’t matter anymore. We had to win. I think I lost two points, not one“, said Tănase.
