Patro Eisden Maasmechelen drew 3-3 against Lierse on Sunday evening after a spectacular match. Coach Stijn Stijnen responded afterwards.

Patro Eisden and Lierse played the last game of these matchdays in the Challenger Pro League on Sunday. It ultimately turned out to be a very spectacular match.

The match ended in a 3-3 draw and was made difficult by the heavy fog. Because the leather was no longer visible, a red ball was played in the second half.

Patro Eisden coach Stijn Stijnen sees that his opponent could start the match a little fresher. “Lierse had six or seven players who did not have a midweek match in their legs, so there was some ‘freshness difference’,” he told Het Belang van Limburg.

“We were flattered in the first half, but after the break we started sharper and we should actually make it 3-1. That doesn’t happen and strange goals are then scored, the 2-2 even literally out of the sky,” he continues. .

“We then deservedly end up at 3-2 and basically just have to play it out. I can’t blame them much afterwards, they fought and worked,” coach Stijnen concludes. Patro Eisden is currently sixth in 1B.
