The cause of his death is not yet known.
A regular at red carpets and galas, Herby Moreau notably hosted the popular show “Star Système” on TVA and “Les Auditions de Star Académie”. He is also known for his collaboration on the show “Flash”, on TQS.
His death occurred on the day of the ADISQ gala, where one of the most important red carpets of the year took place in Quebec, which he used to walk.
Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to meet a large number of celebrities, including Céline Dion, Beyonce, Tom Cruise and Angelina Jolie.
He also had the chance to cover prestigious events, such as the Oscars and the Cannes Film Festival.
Born in Haiti, Herby Moreau arrived in Quebec at age 5. He trained in journalism in France where he graduated.
“He was more discreet”
“In recent years, he has been more discreet. The job had put him aside a little or he had put himself aside a little, but he still deserved his place. Herby has certainly marked in his own way a way of covering the artistic world here and elsewhere and we owe him that!!!,” wrote Josélito Michaud on his Facebook page.
“What sudden and sad news. Nicknamed “The Star Hunter,” Herby quickly made his mark on the red carpets and brought us closer to our stars. My thoughts go to those close to Herby Moreau,” reacted the mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante, on X.
“I am in shock. He was our neighbor in Old Montreal, the class he had on the red carpets also translated into the streets of our neighborhood. Our most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones,” wrote provincial Liberal MP Marwah Rizqy.
“I am deeply devastated, my heart is in pieces. As recently as June 30, you were so proud to see your son Julien graduate and enter university in political science. You wrote to me in your last text: “see you if you have time this summer, whenever you want, for a little 5 to 7 on a terrace or elsewhere”. This happy hour will unfortunately never take place,” shared the Minister of Higher Education, Pascale Déry.
