The weekend was particularly turbulent in the Lyon metropolitan area with a series of incidents of damage, rebellion and violence against the police committed at night.
Arrested during a wild barbecue
In total, twelve troublemakers were arrested, including three on the sidelines of these events. These three adult Rilliards were arrested during a wild barbecue on avenue du Général-Leclerc. They refused to leave the premises. One was referred Sunday morning to the Lyon public prosecutor's office for contempt and rebellion, the other two will be referred this Monday for contempt.
An hour later, two TCL buses and trash cans were set on fire by hooded groups, sparking outraged reactions from the political class. These arsonists have not yet been identified.
Thursday, Halloween evening gave rise to numerous damages. In Rillieux, the police had arrested three minors who will be summoned before the children's judge in September 2025. In Givors and Grigny, two arsonists were arrested.
With Saint-Fons, the scene of violence on Friday and, to a lesser extent, Saturday, the number of arrests increased to twelve (three Friday evening and one minor Saturday evening).
