Estoril coach, Ian Cathro, regrets the mistakes made at Dragão, which worsened the result (4-0), despite the team managing to do well in some moments of the match.
A succession of errors worsened the result
“I believe we started well in this game. It’s not easy to come here and show identity and divide the game, put ideas on the field. The players deserve credit for their dedication. At half-time I didn’t feel like the game was 2-0. I believe we were doing well We have to accept that we conceded four goals in moments that cannot happen.”
Pressure line failed
“Pressure works for several things. We managed to stay in a higher block. We managed to control certain moments of the game and we have to see our reality. We are Estoril, we came to Dragão to play against FC Porto, but we want to be a better Estoril. We want accelerate the process of making Estoril better”
Fair or unfair result?
“I’ve already said once that this sounds like bar talk. For tomorrow, it’s 4-0. We have to accept it. But I saw a lot of good things from the team. We’re going to recover quickly and be better”
