Dearest Ignacio: may Jesus keep my daughters and my sons from Spain!
I am writing these lines to you on the occasion of the rains and floods that are causing so many disasters in Spain, especially in the Valencian Community. I want to assure you of the affection and prayer of the entire Work: we accompany you very closely through the Communion of Saints.
We are following the news in the press and, in the midst of grief for the death of so many people, I thank God that, to the extent possible, you are all well. I ask Saint Mary for the victims and their relatives, for those who are still missing, and for all those who are suffering serious consequences due to this catastrophe, so that no one loses hope or confidence in God, who loves us and helps us. protects.
Although it is sometimes difficult for us to understand His Providence, these circumstances can help us abandon ourselves with faith in His hands, and respond to His Will with acts of acceptance and love, and with a renewed willingness to serve those around us.
Let us ask the Lord that, without losing peace, we make the needs of others our own and know how to offer them comfort and help, to the best of our ability.
I continue to support each and every one of you, in your prayer and your work. Tomorrow we will celebrate the feast of All Saints: we can go to them, so that they can intercede before the Lord for everything we carry in our hearts. Your Father loves you, remembers you continually and blesses you.
