This documentary is therefore called “Vitaa, my name is Charlotte”; a very evocative title but which obviously refers to his latest album, “Charlotte”. It’s a project that should delight fans, since Vitaa announces an “intimate” documentary. “ The more the years go by, the more I want to say everything, to show everything. I've never been so ready to do it », she recently declared to our colleagues at Purecharts.
For this film, Vitaa surrounded himself with director Matthieu Valluet, at the helm of the famous show “L'Agence” on TMC. He followed the artist in her daily life for two years, and will return in particular to the key moments of the singer's career. Between everyday images and confessions, you will discover the artist as you have never seen her. Testimonies from Tony Parker, Gims, Amel Bent and even Carla Bruni will also be discovered.
Women in the industry
TMC's description of the documentary also announces that Vitaa will discuss “the challenges of women in the industry”; a subject that seems casual, in 2024, is still taboo.
After her debut in 2006 with Diam's in “Confessions nuits”, Vitaa had a string of successes with her album “À fleur de toi” released in 2007, and in particular the title “My sister”, then in 2013 with Gims, and the title “ Game Over.” In 2019, she returned to the forefront as a duo, this time with Slimane, and the album “VersuS”… jackpot!
Such longevity and career in the world of music, and what's more, in the urban world, is not given to everyone. In the trailer for the documentary, Vitaa explains that she had to fight to establish herself. “I never thought I would live this life and to stay in the game it's a constant fight (…) She's a white girl who plays R&B, which radio station is going to play her? She cries all the time ».
Now a mother of three children, the singer had mentioned that “Charlotte” would be her last album. But the artist doesn't plan to leave like that… a tour is underway. It will notably pass through Orléans (11/23), Angers (11/24), Bordeaux (11/29) or even Poitiers (01/19), Angoulême (01/25) or Limoges (01/26).
In the meantime, see you next Friday, November 22, on TMC and TF1+ from 9:25 p.m., to discover “Vitaa, my name is Charlotte”.
