Saturday November 16, Nordic walking enthusiasts are expected in Beaune for a sporting and solidarity event. The Bâtons Bavards association, chaired by Didier Grasset, is organizing the 9th edition of its Nordic walk on the sidelines of the Hospices de Beaune Wine Sale Half-Marathon. This year again, each walker is invited to contribute to an important cause: the €5 for participation will be donated in full to the League Against Cancer.
Nordic walking is a complete and accessible physical activity. Practiced with specific poles, it uses both the muscles of the upper and lower body, making it a gentle discipline for the joints while being beneficial for the heart and lungs. Thanks to this technique, walkers increase their energy expenditure without imposing excessive effort on their body, which makes it popular with all generations.
Course of the event
Registrations will begin at 8:15 a.m. at the Sports Forum, allowing participants to meet in a friendly atmosphere before departure. A collective warm-up, scheduled for 8:45 a.m., will allow everyone to prepare physically while sharing a moment of camaraderie. The official start of the walk will be at 9 a.m. for a 10 km route.
The route of this Nordic walk will take participants through the picturesque landscapes of the Montagne de Beaune. With a difference in altitude of around 300 meters, the route combines the beauty of the landscapes and a sporting challenge, offering a breathtaking view of the vineyards and hills of the Côte de Beaune.
By joining this walk, participants combine the pleasure of sport with a solidarity cause, because all of the funds raised will be donated to the League Against Cancer.
