Tuesday, October 29, 2024, witnessed important activities for French President Emmanuel Macron as part of his official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.
The French Head of State began his program on the second day at his residence in the Palace of Guests, where he received many Moroccan officials, and began with Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, where the two discussed privately.
Emmanuel Macron also met with Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, and Speaker of the House of Advisors, Mohamed Ould Rachid.
French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a historic speech in the Moroccan Parliament in front of the House of Representatives and the Chamber of Advisors, in which he renewed France’s recognition of the Moroccanity of the Sahara and support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco, stressing that the solution to the existing conflict must be under Moroccan sovereignty.
In his speech, Macron praised the depth of the history of the relations between the two countries and the skill of King Mohammed VI in leading Morocco towards progress and prosperity, and stated that the Moroccan monarchy is one of the most ancient monarchies in the world.
From the Moroccan Parliament, Macron thanked the King for his recent speech about France, as well as the Moroccans who contributed to the liberation of France, and praised the Moroccan community and its role in the vitality of France, pointing to the 10 million Moroccans who participated in rebuilding France after the war.
The French President and his wife attended lunch with a delegation of Moroccan and French intellectuals.
After that, French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron visited the shrine of Mohammed V, where they prayed for the souls of their late Majesties King Mohammed V and King Hassan II, may God bless them, and signed the golden book of the shrine.
As part of the activities of the second day of the official visit, the French President delivered a speech at the International University in Rabat, in the presence of a large number of Moroccan and French officials, businessmen, and national and international media.
On the sidelines of his attendance at the International University in Rabat, French President Emmanuel Macron met with young Moroccan talents who shone in the fields of video games and electronic sports.
The second day’s activities concluded with French President Emmanuel Macron attending the dinner party held by King Mohammed VI in his honor and his wife, Brigitte Macron.
