: If you press pause at 29 minutes and 9 seconds, you’ll find one of the film’s biggest mistakes – Cinema News

Broadcast this evening on TF1, “” by Christopher Nolan has a few small errors despite its great qualities. A look back at one of the most important of them.

Even a director as meticulous and punctilious as Christopher Nolan is sometimes capable of making a few small mistakes. And even a feature film as precise as Dunkirk occasionally conceals one or two anomalies.

At 29 minutes and 9 seconds…

While the war film notably starring Harry Styles, Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy is broadcast this evening on TF1, we look back at a fairly impressive blunder, but practically impossible to spot, unless your name is Michel or we don’t know exactly where to look for it.

To find it, you will first have to press the “pause” button on your remote control at exactly 29 minutes and 9 seconds, that is to say during one of the sequences where the British pilot played by Tom Hardy flies over the Channel at the controls of his Spitfire, and prepares to fight against German fighters.

… take a good look at Tom Hardy’s scoreboard

In the scene in question, the character takes stock of his fuel reserve, and notes with chalk on his dashboard that 15:10he still has 40 gallons (see above). But it is the other two figures, written on the left of the screen, that we recommend you pay attention to: 15 / 15 2.

Indeed, even if they already appear on the image in this shot, it is only much later in the film – at 42 minutes and 53 seconds very precisely – that Tom Hardy will note them on his camera, at the moment when his teammate will tell him that he only has 15 gallons of fuel left before he breaks down (see below).

A small visual inconsistency which tells us the order in which the scenes were shot, but which also betrays a major oversight on the part of the technical teams. So, even when your name is Christopher Nolan, perfection doesn’t exist!
