The party is officially on!
Since this Saturday, October 19, 2024, the Vendée Globe village has opened its doorsuntil November 10.
It was inaugurated early in the morning by the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, the president of the department, Alain Leboeuf, and the mayor of Sables-d’Olonne, Yannick Moreau.
Who says village, says of course discovery of the 40 skippers’ boatslined up on the pontoon.
Some take the opportunity to take photos of them, while others have the chance to get on board.
For one month, visitors can also meet the skippers. Many signing sessions are organized over the hours.
The village is also entertainment, to discover this whole unique world.
In the department hall, a route traces the history of these heroesand also allows you to learn more about the functioning of these sea monsters.
A 360 degree room also allows you to immerse yourself, thanks to a short film, in what it is like to experience the Everest of the seas.
Many associations and organizations offer activities around the marine worldlike the one dedicated to the different knots used on a boat.
After nourishing your mind and strolling through the aisles, other stands also offer something to eat.
Why not let yourself be tempted by the traditional Vendée brioche?
In total, these are 30 000 m2available to visitors. Not to mention the one-off activities put in place every day.
