See which players are unavailable for Premier League matches because they are suspended or are close to a ban due to their accumulation of yellow cards.

Who is suspended?

Five players were sent off in Matchweek 8, the most on a single day since 2nd May 2015 when six red cards were issued.

With Arsenal’s encounter against Liverpool looming, William Saliba received an untimely red card for pulling back Evanilson in the defeat to AFC Bournemouth, denying the Brazilian an obvious goalscoring opportunity.

He is banned for the visit of Liverpool in Matchweek 9 and will next be available for the Matchweek 10 trip to Newcastle United.

Mohammed Kudus was the first to receive his marching orders today, sent off in West Ham United’s 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur for violent conduct following a VAR review.

He will miss three Premier League matches starting with the visit of Manchester United in Matchweek 9.

Joachim Andersen was awarded a red card when he denied Ollie Watkins an obvious goalscoring opportunity in Fulham’s 3-1 loss to Aston Villa. He is banned for one match only, and will miss the trip to Everton next weekend.

In the same encounter, Villa’s Jaden Philogene was dismissed for two bookable offences. He will also serve a one-match suspension, sitting out the contest with Bournemouth.

Ryan Fraser fouled Jamie Vardy in Southampton’s 3-2 defeat to Leicester City, denying the forward an obvious goalscoring opportunity. He is unavailable for the game at Manchester City.

Matchweek 8 suspensions

Meanwhile, Chelsea duo Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana are suspended for the Matchweek 8 game versus Liverpool, after they were both booked for the fifth time this season in their side’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on 6 October.

Similarly, James Ward-Prowse and Morgan Gibbs-White, together with Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo are all unavailable for the home meeting with Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Ward-Prowse was sent off for two bookable offences against Chelsea in Matchweek 7, and Gibbs-White is suspended after admitting to using abusive and/or insulting language towards a fourth official.

Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has also admitted to using improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words towards a fourth official. An independent Regulatory Commission has imposed a two-match touchline suspension and a further one-match ban that had been suspended.

Nuno will therefore be banned from the technical area for Forest’s next three fixtures, against Palace, Leicester and West Ham, before he can return there in Matchweek 11.
