Flooded premises, leaking roofs in Sud-Tarn

Haute-Garonne, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot, Gers and Hautes-Pyrénées remain on orange rain-flood alert until midday.

Since Thursday morning, Météo France has recorded 20 to 40 mm across the area, rather 40 to 60 mm from the Hautes-Pyrénées to Luchonnais and in the region and 60 to 80 mm from the south of the Lot to the northeast of Aveyron.

On France Bleu this Friday morning, Colonel Eric Vincent from Sdis du Tarn confirms that the activity was “sustained but not exceptional”with in all around forty interventions mainly in the south of the department, Castres, Mazamet, Labruguière, for flooded premises or roofs that were leaking water, particularly in a retirement home and a shopping center.

A listener from Labruguière (Tarn) near Castres also informs France Bleu Occitanie this Friday of power outages in the sector.

The water level is also not worrying at this stage. In (Tarn), the Tarn rose to 1.65 m at 5 a.m., far from the three meters reached in June 2020. The same in Saint-Sulpice, where the river rose last night to 3.25 m (compared to 5, 4m in March 2022, the last flood). In (Tarn-et-Garonne), the Tarn is measured at 2.12m at dawn, again very far from the most recent floods.
