Dodger’s infielder and former Baylor baseball player, Max Muncy set the major league record for most consecutive postseason plate appearances reaching base.
NEW YORK — Former Baylor Bear and current L.A. Dodgers’ baseball player Max Muncy has had two back-to-back record setting days.
On Thursday, the infielder set the record for most consecutive postseason plate appearances reaching base. Muncy is the only baseball player in MLB’s history to reach the base in the post season 11 total times.
On Wednesday, Muncy set a record with the Dodgers, tying a franchise record for most postseason homeruns with 13 total.
Muncy was drafted in 2012 in the 5th round after playing at Baylor. While with the Bears he was a freshman All-American and broke records for homers by a freshman with 11 and 53 RBI.
Muncy is now playing with the Dodgers and working to punch his ticket to the World Series. They lead the series 3-1 over the Mets.
Muncy and the Dodgers hit the field on Friday at 4:08 p.m. for game five of the series.
