For many months, state services have worked to prepare for this exercise, in close collaboration with the operator, elected officials, communities, neighborhood interest committees, operators and forces. rescue and safety.

The Arkéma Saint-Menet establishment is a high-threshold SEVESO site. Due to its activity of storing materials such as chlorine, ammonia and bromine, the establishment is likely to accidentally produce toxic releases.

In accordance with the Internal Security Code, and as for all SEVESO high-threshold establishments in the national territory, an exercise to implement the specific intervention plan 1 is carried out regularly.

This exercise involves the State, the operator, the emergency and security services and the municipalities in the management of an accidental situation, although this is highly improbable, which would produce a toxic release into the environment.

In order to test the alert and information for local populations, the operator’s sirens, the SAIP and Fr-Alert sirens will be triggered on Thursday October 17 between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. People located within the alert perimeter around the Arkéma Saint-Menet site will receive two Fr-Alert notifications (at 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.) on their mobile phone and will hear the sirens sounding.

Fr-Alert, regularly tested in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, is a new way to alert people in a danger zone (tsunami, attack, etc.), in addition to those already existing (sirens, media, etc.).

Receiving the notification is accompanied by a specific shrill sound signal.

When receiving Fr-Alert notifications, the population will not be asked to take any particular action. On the other hand, you will be asked to respond to the questionnaire available on the link indicated in the message received and to accept, possibly, to be geolocated (completely anonymized procedure).

During this exercise, the security procedures of some establishments open to the public located within the scope of Arkéma Saint-Menet’s specific intervention plan will be tested: Marseille Saint-Menet Travelers reception area , schools, Ikea La Valentine store, etc.

Consigns to the population on the day of the exercise:
