They certainly weren’t brilliant or very inspired. But the main thing was elsewhere for the RMF Greens! At the end of an unbreathable session, Romain Houeix propelled his team to the 6th round for the first time in its history. And this, two years after having already broken the club record (5th round against AS Vitré, 0-3). “It was a really bad second half. But we celebrated the victory as if we had won 5-0. Everyone was happy, the coach, the president, the supporters. We had a great party there and on the way back. Waking up was complicated! », laughed Lucas Madoulet, the Ruffiac midfielder.
A big one at home
Its president Anthony Poyac also savored this milestone in the 6th round and is delighted to see a whole enthusiastic club around his R2 team. “More than a hundred supporters came by bus to see us. We are now hoping for a great party at home. A 6th round represents the evolution of the club which continues to grow. The merger (between Espérance de Ruffiac and GO Malestroit) took place ten years ago. This makes it possible to consolidate the club’s project and it shows that the work is of quality,” indicates the president, who would be playing a big game at home from this 6th round. Coach Maxime Michel wants to be a little more greedy. “We are one round away from playing a professional team. This may be the year of big surprises. I hope we can go for another round and do something even bigger,” confides the coach.
