This Monday, France and National Education pay tribute to teachers Samuel Paty and Dominique Bernard.
Victims of Islamist terrorism in October 2020 and 2023, the teachers died in the exercise of their profession.
The Minister for Educational Success Alexandre Portier, former deputy for Rhône, will be in Lyon for the occasion.
This Monday morning, before 9 a.m., he will participate in the tribute to the two teachers at the Lycée Doctor Charles Mérieux in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon.
A minute of silence must take place in all establishments in France. During the week, a time for analysis and reflection with the students can also be organized, the duration and content of which will also be left to the choice of the teams according to their respective situations.
“Paying tribute to these two teachers, through a solemn time, through a time of analysis and reflection, through the engagement of students in longer-term projects, allows us to maintain the memory of Samuel Paty and Dominique Bernard , and to transmit the values they embody”indicates the Ministry of National Education.
