War in Ukraine: North Korean soldiers to help Russia on the Ukrainian front? “A bigger war must be avoided” warns Zelensky

Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to Russia’s plans to use North Korean troops in the war against Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on Sunday on Russia’s plans to use North Korean troops in the war against Ukraine in a context where Russia is increasingly actively strengthening its cooperation with the country led by Kim Jong-Un.

However, “it is now no longer only about the transfer of weapons, but also the transfer of people to the military forces of the occupier,” Zelensky emphasized in his traditional speech on Sunday, October 13.

According to The Guardian, North Korean soldiers could participate in the war against Ukraine alongside Russia. It is likely that some of them have already been eliminated following the attack near Donetsk.

At the same time, Washington Post journalists, citing Ukrainian military intelligence, reported that several thousand North Korean troops are currently undergoing training in Russia and could be sent to the front line in Ukraine by the end of This year.

Earlier, a senior EU diplomat said the European Union had no evidence of the presence of North Korean troops on Ukrainian territory. However, the EU continues to monitor developments.

For Zelensky, the arrival of North Korean soldiers on the Ukrainian front must be accompanied by even closer relations with its partners.

“It is not just a list of military means but an increased pressure on the aggressor which will be stronger for Russia than it can resist. And it is a question of avoiding a war bigger,” declared the Ukrainian head of state.

According to him, “true peace can only be achieved through force.”
