Scottish DJ and producer Jack Revill, known as Jackmaster, has died following a head injury in Ibiza.

Revill, 38, died Saturday morning from “complications resulting from accidental head trauma,” his family said.

They added that they were “completely heartbroken” by the “devastating” loss.

The Glasgow DJ has played at some of the world’s most famous clubs and festivals and co-founded the Numbers label.

A statement from his family said: “It is with deep sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster.

“Jack tragically passed away in Ibiza on the morning of October 12, following complications resulting from accidental head trauma.

“His family – Kate, Sean and Johnny – are heartbroken.

“While deeply touched by the overwhelming support from friends, colleagues and fans, the family kindly requests privacy as they navigate the immense grief of this devastating loss.”

Born in Glasgow, Revill worked at the famous record store Rubadub in Glasgow and became the co-founder of the Numbers label.

He had recently released the single Nitro, featuring Kid Enigma, telling music magazine Electronic Groove: “It was about feeling excited and inspired in the club.

“Unfortunately, these moments are rare now. It’s the fault of the phones and the people who don’t dance, I think.

“I’m very grateful to my fans, but I got into music because I love dancing. It’s a lost art form at the moment, I think.”

In 2018, he apologized after an incident at the Love Saves the Day music festival in Bristol, after admitting to behaving “inappropriately and offensively towards staff at the event when he was heavily drunk “.

Electronic duo Disclosure were among those to pay tribute to him, write on Instagram: “I can’t believe this. Heartbroken. Thanks for all the amazing memories and inspiration Jack. It’s just horrible, horrible. »

A post from the duo’s official Instagram account DU CamelPhat on Revill’s Instagram page read: “I can’t believe what I’m reading…in an industry full of Egos, you were hands down one of the nicest guys I’ve ever seen. We’ve never met in a decade. way. Our thoughts are with family and friends. RIP my friend x.
