FC Porto coach, Vítor Bruno, was happy with the players’ performance, but warned about the very tight schedule ahead.
Passage to the “final four”.
“Very happy for whoever made the lineup, often the routines in training are never the same thing to take to the game. For me it’s a very good sign of doubt that they give me. They know that there are people next to them who can compete with them. A fair victory. In the second half we have four or five shots to score a goal.
Highlights?
“I’m not going to go that route. If there’s anyone to highlight, it’s Gul, because of the language difficulty, because of the effort he’s made. The players were also very supportive. The message was in this sense, of giving a hand to a player who is making his debut as a starter. It’s never easy to come to a club like FC Porto, with the size they have, it’s surprising, because they portray what they do on a daily basis.”
Tight cycle
“We will have three cycles playing on the third day. We will have another Sunday, we will have another next week. I think we are the only team in Portugal that will have this cycle playing three times on the third day. It forces us to have this gymnastics. It’s understanding the each person’s needs and make decisions”
FC Porto defeated Moreirense, 2-0, and advances to the “final four” of the League Cup, where they will now face Sporting.
