On more (or less) two wheels

Before discovering what you can get on two wheels, let’s see, while remaining within the framework of the motorcycle, what there is on one, three or four wheels.

The first lot to be presented at this sale will be a car (bubble car in the jargon of insiders). This Isetta manufactured under license by BMW is powered by the 4-stroke single cylinder from the BMW R25 inflated to 300 cm3 and equipped with a turbine to improve cooling. This 1961 example has been completely restored. With its registration document and technical inspection, the estimate is set between 17,000 and 20,000 euros.

Even before the end of the First World War, Monet Goyon proposed motorized vehicles for the seriously disabled from this conflict. Here, it is an “Automouche” tricycle driven (on a single rear wheel to do without a differential) by a Villiers 2-stroke 250 cm3 engine (successor to the 147 cm3 still from Villiers). Without a registration document, we expect between 2,500 and 3,500 euros.

For a much more utilitarian purpose, this Ercolino from Moto Guzzi of almost 300 cm3 will still require a little work. As a result, the estimate (between 100 and 200 euros) is particularly low. Will it stay within this range? Not sure. Verdict after the sale.

Sale on October 11 in Cavaillon (84): around sixty lots

Here is a very nice object to end this first part. This French sidecar is a Bernardet, a brand well known to collectors for its high-end “baskets” (except the more rudimentary models designed for the army). It appears to be in good condition. The estimate announced between 1,200 and 1,800 euros risks once again being exceeded.

Come on! We leave the “oddities” behind to take an interest in motorcycles.
