Arrest of a Key Member of the Mocro Maffia in

An influential member of the Mocro Maffia was arrested last Tuesday, October 8 in . This criminal organization, well established in the Netherlands, continues to grow despite the efforts of the authorities.

Nicknamed “Wie praat die gaat”, meaning “He who speaks will die”, the Mocro Maffia is feared for its activities in drug trafficking and the production of synthetic drugs, according to Dutch authorities.

AFP reported that the man arrested in Paris is a 35-year-old Moroccan. Under an arrest warrant issued by the Netherlands, he was apprehended by the GIGN, supporting Parisian investigators.

This individual, prosecuted for kidnapping, acts of torture and drug production, embodies the Mocro Maffia, specialized in cocaine trafficking in the Netherlands and Belgium, in collaboration with Colombian cartels.

The ports of Antwerp, Rotterdam and Algeciras play a crucial role in this traffic. In 2022, Dutch customs seized nearly 110 tonnes of cocaine, underlines Radio .

In response to this issue, Geert Wilders, political figure of the Dutch far-right, called in 2019 to classify the Mocro Maffia among the most dangerous criminal organizations in the Netherlands.
