Francis Perrin is the father of Louis, diagnosed with autism. He made every effort to give his son as normal a life as possible. A fight he waged with his wife Gersende Dufromentel, whom Francis Perrin describes as “formidable” on the microphone of Eric Dussart and Jade. “She was exceptional” he adds, before discussing the medical care provided to his child: “We had the ABA treatment which is a stimulation treatment, which does not have drugs”. Moved, Francis Perrin remembers the difficult beginnings: “He started from nothing. He had nothing. He didn’t walk, didn’t eat, didn’t sleep”. Generally autonomous, Louis remains supported in managing certain aspects of his life. “He does his cooking (…), he has an apartment next to our house” continues the actor, more than proud.
When Francis Perrin and his partner welcomed their son, the general public was not yet aware of his particularity. The couple decides to make professional sacrifices to be more at his side: “The profession has really taken a back seat” confides Francis Perrin. Touched, he continues: “He enriched our lives. He taught us a lot, a lot, a lot.”
Eric Dussart would like to recall a very nice gesture on the part of Louis’ brother and sister, who refused to go to the school which did not wish to welcome an autistic child. “It’s great. We have an exceptional family.” reacts Francis Perrin. For nine years, his wife Gersende homeschooled them. “She is an exceptional woman” concludes the actor, as touched as he is grateful.
