The Union knows again what it means to win. The last success of the Unionists dates back to August 16. The vice-champion managed to win on his home field by inflicting a clear 3-0 on a very limited Kortrijk team. Summer acquisitions Mohammed Fuseini and Franjo Ivanovic, who also caused an own goal, scored the Brussels goals.

The Union faced Kortrijk at Parc Duden this Sunday. The Jupiler Pro League runner-up immediately took the initiative and took the lead in the 17th minute. Castro-Montes found Ivanovic whose attempt at goal ended at the feet of Fuseini who had no trouble finishing.

The Union was in control of the situation and had little to fear from counterattacks from Kortrijk. In the second half, Kortrijk failed to raise its level of play and the Union would double the lead in the 51st minute thanks to an unfortunate own goal from Kortrijk. Ivanovic’s tense cross was extended into the goal by Joao Silva. After the 2-0 of the Union, Kortrijk tried to come back, but without success. On the other side, the Union again struck works from Ivanovic, who scored his first goal for the Union, with a difficult shot from close range.

The Union recorded a more than deserved victory against Kortrijk.
