ATP > Sinner grew up: “I learned and accepted what I am. I made big mistakes in the past. From that moment on, I started working on myself , trying to accept it and work even when you are tired”

Jannik Sinner’s press conferences are not always very enriching but it happens that certain passages finally reveal elements which allow us to understand the Italian player’s mode of operation. After his victory in Riyadh, Jannik let go a little, particularly at the moment when he chose to change his attitude.

« I learned and accepted who I am. I made big mistakes in the past, for example the match against Altmaier at Roland Garros (2023), I was not mentally ready. From that moment I started working on myself, trying to accept it and work even when you are tired during training sessions, when you feel that you can’t do it anymore , but you must keep moving forward to become the best version of yourself. Yesterday I had difficult moments against Novak which I can improve, I felt very tired at certain moments. Today too there are things that can be improved, but I feel like I have taken a step forward and I hope that this will be the case for the months and years to come, because it “is a long-term job”
