A loop from Palavas to Maguelone

This pretty loop between sea and pond is located just a few minutes from . A great opportunity to breathe the maritime air while enjoying the magnificent landscapes. Not to be missed in the middle of the route: the splendid cathedral of Maguelone. You can also, at the start or end of your walk, take a detour to the town center of the seaside resort, which hosts its Christmas village until January 5. The route is just under 10 kilometers long and does not present any particular difficulty, as it is very flat. If you want to shorten the walk, other possibilities are available to you in the area, such as the walk along the Méjean pond or a short improvised walk between Palavas and Carnon.

The coastal loop in Vendres

Still by the sea, but this time at the western end of the department, the coastal loop hike offers a 5 km circuit between the Vendres pond and the Mediterranean. Between wetlands and sandy dunes, this lightly shaded walk is ideal to do at this time of year. Allow around 1h30.

A short walk in the scrubland in Villeneuvette

Finally, for a less maritime atmosphere and with barely more elevation, head towards Villeneuvette, a former factory village nestled very close to Clermont-l'Hérault. A short walk of about an hour allows you to discover the place, as well as the scrubland and pine forests that surround it. The route is a little rocky, so bring a suitable pair of shoes. And if you want to walk more, the area is full of splendid hikes, with Salagou Lake and the Mourèze cirque just a few kilometers away.
