SPORT – Rafael Nadal is already back. The Spanish tennis player, who officially retired on November 19, is the subject of a Netflix documentary. Titled RAFAthe latter promises to retrace the immense career of the player who won 22 Grand Slam titles.

This Wednesday, December 18, the streaming platform broadcast a first extract of the trailer for the documentary on X (formerly Twitter).

RAFA promises to return to the career of the Spanish tennis player, from his first steps as a professional at just 14 years old until his retirement last November, including his 14 victories in the Roland-Garros final. “He entered the tennis legend, now it’s up to him to tell his own”thus states the caption which accompanies the publication.

If no date has yet been specified, Rafa Nadal should be posted online ” shortly ” according to Netflix. An announcement that comes less than a month after the retirement of the former world number one.

Moving farewells

Last November, the player from Manacor on the island of Mallorca played his last match in the Davis Cup quarter-final against Botic van de Zandschulp in Spain. He logically lost two sets to zero, without being able to rediscover his former game which had allowed him to win a multitude of titles.

But it was a little later in the day that the Dutchman definitively ended the career of the man with 22 Grand Slam titles. The 80th player in the world won his doubles match with Wesley Koolhof against Carlos Alcaraz and Marcel Granollers. This result sealed Spain’s defeat in the Davis Cup, the tournament chosen by Rafael Nadal to end his career. The latter then took the microphone to make a final speech, which was followed by a shower of tributes from athletes and other celebrities from around the world.
