Djokovic announces the color for next season

At 37, Novak Djokovic has lost none of his determination. The Serbian, who finished 2024 in 7th place in the world, posted one of his lowest rankings in more than a decade. In a recent interview with The Gazzetta dello Sport, he revealed his ambitions for 2025. If Djokovic won Olympic gold, he concedes that 2024 was “his least exciting season in the last ten years”. Eliminated prematurely in several tournaments, he only played in one major final, that of Wimbledon, lost to Carlos Alcaraz. However, these results have in no way dampened his desire to continue aiming for the heights.

Clear objectives for 2025

“In 2024, I haven't played much. Aside from my gold medal and the Wimbledon final, it was probably my least exciting season in the last ten years. Despite everything, I feel like I can still playing at a high level”, Djokovic told the Italian newspaper. Looking to the future, Djokovic is setting ambitious goals. He wants to prioritize the Grand Slams and get back into the race for major titles. Aware of the rise in power of the new generation, notably Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, he remains convinced that his experience can make the difference. “Sinner and Alcaraz have established themselves as the two best players in the world, without forgetting Zverev. They will be the main candidates for Grand Slam and other titles. Physically and mentally, I am ready to get back on the court and play my . I feel like I can challenge these guys and that my experience can be useful.” confides the Serb. With the Grand Slams as a priority, the Serbian hopes to further expand his legendary record. “Next year I will play more tournaments and the Grand Slams will be my priority. I will give my best to win, if my body allows it of course. I feel good, I still have time to rest and analyze what I can improve to do better than last season”, expresses Novak Djokovic who already seems ready to attack next season.
