The elimination ofIga Swiatek during the group stage of WTA Finals is not the only earthquake of the tournament played at Riyad. In doubles, the pair composed of Sara Errani et Jasmine Paolini will not play the semi-finals of the competition this Friday. The reason: a super tie-break lost during the decisive match against Hao-ching Chan et Veronika Kudermetova (3-6, 7-6, 11-9). The Italians, however, had two match points. This scenario is surprising, given that they had won the Olympic Games, Linz, Rome et Beijing this season. The show will still be there this Friday.

Siniakova et Townsend favorites ?
The new expected duo is undoubtedly that made up of Katerina Siniakova et Taylor Townsend (No. 8). For the fourth time in her career, the Czech secured a place as world No. 1 at the end of the season. Rather logical since she won Roland-Garros et Wimbledonas well as Dubai, Prague et Guangzhou…with five different players. Her duet with the American could therefore hurt this weekend. First step: beat Hao-ching Chan et Veronika Kudermetova (No. 7). The other half will oppose Nicole Melichar and Ellen Perez (n°6) to Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe (n°2).
