Rafael Nadal will be eagerly awaited in Malaga for his last dance, before finally bowing out.

But the Spaniard hasn't played much in recent weeks, and doubts about his ability to play at the highest level are well and truly present.

For the captain of the Spanish selection David Ferrer, who is already honored to be able to coach Rafa, the concern will not be whether Nadal will play but rather which match he will play.

“I have a lot of confidence in Rafa because I have spent my whole career with him and I know he is honest about whether he feels capable of competing or not. My idea after speaking with him is that he is ready to play. I spoke with Rafa on Wednesday, I am also in constant contact with his coach Carlos Moyá and his agent Carlos Costa. They keep me informed of developments on a day-to-day basis. I will decide in Malaga which match he will play when I see how he trains. But the same thing will happen with the rest of the players. If Nadal trains at a good level and is in good physical shape, he is an option, of course. »
