The first edition of the “Six Kings Slam”, an exhibition tournament organized in Saudi Arabia with Djokovic, Nadal, Sinner and Alcaraz, will offer $6 million to the winner, a record in the world of tennis.

If the prize money for Grand Slam tournaments continues to increase, notably with the highest prize money in the history of tennis during the last US Open (75 million dollars, including 3.6 million for the winners), the exhibitions do not are not left out. The first edition of the “Six Kings Slam”, organized in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) from October 16 to 19 with some of the best players on the planet, will even break a record, with the largest prize pool in the history of the small yellow ball since the winner will leave with the modest sum of 6 million dollars, or 5.5 million euros. And each of the six participants will win at least a check for 1.5 million dollars (1.38 million euros). Enough to appeal to players who regularly complain about an overly busy schedule…

No ATP points

And there will be lots of people in the Saudi capital. In addition to the future retiree Rafael Nadal, the world number 1, Jannik Sinner, will be present, as will his runner-up Carlos Alcaraz, but also Novak Djokovic (4th), record holder for major titles (24), as well as Daniil Medvedev (5th), despite shoulder problems, and Holger Rune (14th). Nadal and Djokovic will be seeded, and will start directly in the semi-finals on Thursday. Spain will face the winner of the duel between his compatriot Alcaraz and Rune, while the Serbian will face Sinner, in a remake of the last final of the Shanghai tournament, or Medvedev, in the quarter-finals which will take place on Wednesday. The match for third place and the final will take place on Saturday. A tournament which will be organized at “The Venue” and which will obviously not offer any ATP points to participants. But a lot of money…
