Aryna Sabalenka topples Coco Gauff to clinch place in Wuhan WTA 1000 final

With nine double faults in the second set then again as many in the third. Gauff shot himself in the foot. Sabalenka won eight games out of nine, to find herself at 1-6, 6-4, 4-1. His opponent regained, in the space of a few minutes, some of his confidence from the start of the match to return to 4-4, before taking a nosedive again and committing two double faults too many, at 4-5, including one on match point. Sabalenka went for a game that could leave marks in the heads of the two protagonists, who are now at 4-4 in the history of their duels.
