The very creepy Amanda the Adventurer arrives on XBox and Playstation consoles on October 10

It’s the happiest time of the year – Halloween season – and developer MANGLEDmaw Games and horror game publisher DreadXP are kicking off the month with a bang with the console release of Amanda the Adventurer. On October 10, console players will be able to join Riley Park on their disturbing escapade for the first time on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, while Switch players will enjoy a free update with improved graphics, performance, stability and gameplay polish.

Having inherited their Aunt Kate’s house, Riley Park begins to explore what this reclusive woman left behind. In the attic, Riley is surprised to find a stack of VHS tapes next to an old television. The tapes appear to be episodes of a children’s cartoon from the early 2000s that they have never seen before. Intrigued, Riley inserts the first tape into the VCR. Relatively simplistic in appearance, it appears to have been made locally and features a little girl named Amanda and her loyal but shy best friend, Wooly the sheep. While the episode seems charming and simple on the surface, an uneasiness begins to set in when Riley realizes that Amanda and Wooly appear to be communicating directly through the television. A feeling of embarrassment prompts them to stop, but Riley is forced to continue watching the tapes. It’s like Amanda needs something, and Riley is fascinated by finding that something.
