INVESTIGATION – If the main suspect, suspected of being at the origin of the fraud to the detriment of her former employer Kiabi, was arrested this summer, the loot has still not been found.
The affair is so incredible that it has made the front pages of all the newspapers since its revelation by Franceinfo last Friday. Arrested when leaving a private jet in Figari, Corsica, on August 12, a former Kiabi employee is today accused of having embezzled 100 million euros, while she held the position of treasurer at within this famous French ready-to-wear company. Forced to admit to having been the victim of “sophisticated financial fraud”the group’s management now refuses to say more. She prefers to rely on justice, ensuring “have complete confidence in the outcome of the actions carried out by the judicial and police authorities involved”. However, many questions remain open, while the money has – at this stage – not yet been found. Where is the 100 million euros? How can I trace the source of transactions? Are we hopeful of getting our hands on it again?
