Sega has just announced the launch of a new unified account system, simply called “Sega Account”, intended to centralize access to all of its online services and games.
This new “Sega Account” service will allow players to benefit from various advantages when using Sega and Atlus games. Account holders will receive exclusive information on games, events and promotions, as well as special bonus content.
To mark the launch, Sega is already offering a first reward to users : a special Kazuma Kiryu outfit in the upcoming Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, scheduled for release on February 20, 2025. Phantasy Star Online New Genesis players will also be able to get bonuses by linking their account.

The Sega account will centralize your game data
The service will soon allow players to consult their game statistics, like the annual reports offered by PlayStation, Nintendo and Xbox. The platform will integrate with different ecosystems, allowing connection to PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Nintendo accounts, with Epic Games compatibility coming soon.
-This initiative could be linked to Sega’s mysterious “Super Game” project, mentioned in an October 2022 financial report. According to Haruki Satomi, CEO of Sega, this ambitious project aims to create a major global title, scheduled for the fiscal year ending March 2026.
This announcement comes in a particular context for Sega, which recently unveiled five new projects based on its classic franchises during the Game Awards 2023: Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Ax and Streets of Rage. The Sega Account could serve as a unified entry point for these future releases.
Sega President and COO Shuji Utsumi recently spoke of a return to the roots: rock & roll » of the company, suggesting a desire to reclaim the rebellious spirit that once characterized the brand.
