TEST Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: a rebirth on PC

The magic happens!

February 2024, PS5 owners were able to get their hands on the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remakethe terrible and sympathetic Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. In the meantime, the title has received an update allowing you to enjoy a flashy image on PS5 Pro (read our test in passing). We are in 2025, Square Enix has made the decision to bring this gripping and extraordinary adventure to PC. We've tested the beast, it's time to tell you about it!

A real pleasure!

To start, we played it with the configurations at maximum. SO ? It rocks! The Japanese firm transports us into a sublimated and captivating visual universe. The lighting, a real asset of this new version, has been considerably improved! The particles of light swirl in all directions, the shadow play is well managed, it's breathtaking! Explorable areas and cutscenes benefit from a more natural tone, bringing every detail to life. The world of Final Fantasy VII has never seemed so vibrant and captivating.

But wait, that's not all, the performance is not left out. Thanks to technology DLSSwe can enjoy a display rate of up to 120 fps, depending on your choice of resolution of course. Unsurprisingly, the experience becomes even more fluid and responsive, especially during clashes requiring a bit of skill. The resolution has also been optimized, showing off impressively sharp graphics.

Furthermore, Textures in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PC are vibrant, making every scene more immersive. Furthermore, depending on your hardware, the title offers many options to customize the appearance of backgrounds, templates, etc.. Three graphics settings are available (low, medium, high), you can therefore adjust each option to obtain a rendering perfectly suited to your machine. Backgrounds benefit from improved detail thanks to MIP mapping and better distance management. Let's sum it all up in one word: magnificent!
