WhatsApp now allows you to share your statuses on Instagram and Facebook

WhatsApp offers a new feature allowing you to automatically share your statuses on Instagram and Facebook. An option accessible from the Meta Accounts Area.

Meta enriches its Accounts Area by including WhatsAppin order to share its statuses (to share ephemeral information with your loved ones) directly on Instagram et Facebook Stories.

WhatsApp makes it easier to share between Meta apps

Since 2020, Meta’s Account Space has helped simplify interactions between its different platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram. With the upcoming addition of WhatsApp, users will have the option to automatically share their WhatsApp statuses as Stories on Instagram and Facebook. This feature is mainly aimed at those who want to avoid publishing the same content multiple times.

The integration of WhatsApp into the Accounts Area is entirely optional. Users can choose to enable or disable it through WhatsApp settings. You can also unlink your account at any time.

WhatsApp still promises end-to-end encryption

Meta reminds that privacy remains a priority for WhatsApp. Personal messages and calls remain protected with end-to-end encryption, ensuring that no one can access them, including Meta. The addition of WhatsApp to the Accounts Area therefore does not change the level of protection of messages exchanged.

Meta also announces that users will soon be able to manage their avatars, stickers and other content created with artificial intelligence tools in a dedicated space. Additionally, Meta will implement a unique ID system for WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram to reduce friction when reinstalling or switching from one service to another. The implementation of these new features will be gradual and global. Once available, the options will appear in WhatsApp settings or during actions requiring cross-app sharing.
